The Christian's Fondest Hope

Manfred E. Kober, Th.D.

The Savior’s promises give the believer present hope in these difficult last days. There is the hope of tranquility in the midst of life’s storms (Mt. 11:28). There is the promise of a new body after the disease and death in this vale of tears (John 11:25). But the greatest hope Christ held out for every believer is His any-moment return in the air to summon us to our eternal home. Ever since the Savior’s promise in the Upper Room the night before His substitutionary death (John 14:1-6), the rapture has been the Christian’s fondest hope.

It is…

1. A Blessed Hope

“Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing” (Titus 2:13).

2. A Purifying Hope

“And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” (1 Jn. 3:3).

3. A Comforting Hope

“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thess. 4:18).

4. A Sure Hope

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereto you do well that you take heed.” (2 Peter 1:19).
